About IPOR

Our History

Established in 2013, the Institute of Public Opinion and Research (IPOR) is a research organization providing Social Science research, advisory and consulting services, based in the University town of Zomba, Malawi. To date, we have conducted several assignments for our clients which have included local and international universities, local non-governmental organizations and international research firms. Among other things, we collect, analyze and report on data; and provide advisory and consulting services for our clients. Drawing from our team of renowned and experienced researchers, we believe in delivering quality for every assignment that we undertake, big or small. We are indeed a centre of excellence in Social Science research, advisory and consulting.

Our Mission

Our work straddles between both quantitative and qualitative Social Science research. Over the past years, we have conducted research assignments spanning a broad range of areas including, democracy and governance, development planning and administration, local development, health, education, gender, and media consumption habits, to mention but a few. These studies have employed quantitative methods such as surveys at national and sub-national levels, Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews and desk research. We pride ourselves in delivering timely and credible results as well as providing our expertise in research instrument design for both quantitative and qualitative studies.
